Event Info

We are running this year’s Young Marine Biologist (YMB) Summit, in partnership with Save Our Seas Foundation . The 5th annual YMB Summit is the second to take place online. The 2020 ‘Ocean Decade’ themed event involved more than 400 people from 35 countries. This year’s summit is themed ‘Ocean Predators’ and will take place over the weekend of the 27th and 28th Nov’ between 10:00 am & 16:00 UK Time

The free online event aims to engage young people aged 14-18 (but is open to anyone) in marine science & conservation, providing inspirational presentations & interactive sessions to show the wide range of opportunities & career pathways & opportunities available. Participants will be encouraged to interact with presenters through Zoom or send questions in advance for our speakers. The event will be simultaneously streamed live through YouTube and Facebook & Recordings will be made of sessions where we can for those unable to join live.

We are trying to make the event as accessible, diverse & inclusive as possible & would welcome any suggestions you might have that would improve this. Just email events@mba.ac.uk with any ideas!

Please help us share this opportunity as widely as you can by telling friends, family, teachers, youth-group leaders, lecturers & colleagues about the event & using the #ymbsummit2021 on social media.

The Summit begins at 10:00 am & ends 16:00 UK time on Saturday the 26th & Sunday 27th November.

There will be more than 30 speakers from around the world, including leading scientists & communicators.
